Multimedia learning hypothesis: People can learn more deeply from words and pictures than from words alone

Visuals and text together take advantage of the full capacity of human for processing of information.

Pictures and words are qualitatively different, however, they can complement each other.

Learners mentally integrate pictures and text into single internal representations.
